Bouquet Presentation... As the Bouquet Toss Tradition goes, the young lady who catches the Bride's bouquet will be the next in line to get married. In the spirit of this tradition, you may want to do something a little more personal. Instead of tossing the bouquet, consider presenting it to a friend who is already engaged to be married.
Its important to remember to keep your guest entertained and included to maximize their enjoyment.
Have someone sing a special song. If you have a close friend or family member who loves to sing, and can sing well, this is a great way to let them play an important role in your Ceremony, or Reception.
Background Music Sets the Mood. Drinks and appetizers will give your guest something to drink and eat, but the Cocktail Hour may feel dry and uninviting without some music. Consider what your friends and family will enjoy and let it play.
Grand Entrance... The simplest Grand Entrance involves just introducing the two of you into the Reception while your guest are encouraged to stand and cheer. This is the moment they've been waiting for!
In the spotlight... During the Grand Entrance consider using a spotlight to laminate your wedding parties entrance. It creates a Holiday Feel and is a lot of fun.
The Paparazzi Affect... Have your guest grab their cameras and as soon as the Bride and Groom walk through the door, you will be mobbed as dozens of your guest armed with cameras suddenly start snapping pictures as you walk toward the head table.
The Key Trick... Pass out keys to several ladies in the room, and then during the Best Man's toast mention the groom is officially off the market and the keys should be turned in right away. You could even give a key or two to some guys! The song just a gigolo by David Lee Roth would be playing for the finishing touch.
Welcoming Message... Take a moment when you first enter your reception, just after the formal toast, to give a welcoming message thanking your guest for being an important part of your celebration and encourage them to have fun.
Bouquet & Garter Switch... The bride drags a chair out on to the dance floor and firmly set down her new husband. After he is seated the bride rolls up the Grooms pants legs "to some sexy music" to reveal the Garter. After the bride removes it... she tosses it to the single ladies. Then the groom tosses the bouquet to the single men.
Have some coloring books for the kids!
After the rehearsal dinner, give your mother and future mother-in-law or “anyone you think deserves something special” a container of bath salts or bath powder. Express to each of them the wish that they have a nice, long bath to relax and prepare for the wedding.
Pamper your father and father-in-law or “anyone you think deserves special attention” by arranging for them to have a straight razor blade shave the morning of the wedding. Many of the old style barbershops provide the service.

Invite a favorite aunt, uncle or family friend to do a reading at your ceremony.
Order flowers to be delivered to both sets of parents the morning after the wedding.
Ask your mother, or his, if she still has the cake top from her wedding cake and consider using it on your cake.
Encourage both sets of parents and grandparents to talk about special moments and traditions they included in their weddings. Somewhere in all their reminiscing, you may hear a real gem of an idea.
Assign someone to watch over your wishing well and the area with wedding gifts. Ask specific people to remove them from the hall immediately after the first dance. |
